Multiple of a given number is the ANSWER we get by multiplying the given number to any other number.
Suppose we have to find the multiples of 5. then
5 × 1 = 5
5 × 2 = 10
5 × 3 = 15
5 × 4 = 20
…….
…….
…….
5 × 10 = 50
5 × 11 = 55
5 × 12 = 60
…….
…….
……
5 × 20 = 100
5 × 21 = 105
and so on
Thus,
5, 10, 15, ………, 50, 55, 60, ………., 100, 105, ……..
These all are multiples of 5.
Remember:
1. MULTIPLES of a NUMBER are always INFINITE. Whereas FACTORS of a NUMBER are always FINITE.
2. Every number is a multiple of itself.
3. The multiple of a number is always greater than or equal to the number itself. (except 0)
